Georgina's Success Story: Healthy Home Initiative at Work

Updated: Aug 25, 2020

In the middle of this pandemic, WAMY's housing staff visited a 79-year-old lady, "Georgina", who's house was full of garbage because she was unable to take it out and there's no garbage pickup in Yancey county. They were so touched and moved, they not only worked extra hard to find a way to help her, they also volunteered their own time to work in her home to reduce the cost of the job. It's an honor to have such incredible, generous people as part of our network.

We are grateful to have a sponsor like BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina who invests in our communities, and so proud to have WAMY Community Action as part of our network! We couldn't do this important work without them and their dedicated staff!
